Future view on Artic farming

During this project, we explored a scenario in the future of Sandhornøya. The task was to look at farming in the Arctic environment, and we saw the potential of farming larvae, kelp, fish, cow, and sheep.

Semester: 6
Topic: Arctic farming in the future
Duration: 2-3 months
Tools: Miro, Powerpoint,
Adobe illustrator

Group project:

Mathilde Mortvedt, Anna Vik, Kamilla Bedin, Ingrid Sudbø, Jon Anders Fløistad

We created an economic system, and also an autonomic robot to harvest the kelp most simply and efficiently. From harvesting kelp to feeding it to the larvae, feeding the population and fish the larvae, and then feeding the population with nutritious fish.

With this project,  the whole class was divided into groups with different themes. The result was a newspaper, where we show the results of each project and speculate about how the future could be.

This project was our introduction to Systemoriented design, and I learned a lot about gigamapping, clusters, illustrating systems, and finding realistic ideas on how the future could be.
